Metafranc Booth
DIY Pro & Garden
Xpo, Kortijk

Booth design for METAFRANC. A 64m² retail focused exhibition stand with three sides open for DIY and PRO GARDEN at Kortrijk Xpo.
During the two day event, Metafranc showcased their specially designed rack systems, a modular shelving solution developed for large retail chains such as GAMMA, Brico and Hubo. Instead of presenting it as loose components, the system was showcased in realistic in store setups.
The booth is built to be reusable and modular. The structure was produced using RE-board Fire, meeting Euroclass C fire certification required for the venue.
A modular retail exhibition booth, reconfigurable with limited effort.
DIY Pro & Garden
DIY and PRO GARDEN is the biennial trade fair for the DIY, professional and garden retail sectors, held at Kortrijk Xpo in Belgium. The event brings together more than 140 exhibitors and nearly 3,000 industry professionals, offering a comprehensive overview of the latest products and services across decoration, garden, construction, hardware, tools, electrical and household segments.
Designed specifically for retail decision makers, from independent shops to major chains and buying groups, the fair responds to key market trends and provides inspiration, networking opportunities and insight into what is driving the DIY and professional markets today.

Layout of the space
The idea was clear from the beginning. Create a space that is inviting and light, and that showcases Metafranc’s retail store rack system to wholesalers in a way that feels like an in store installation, with a minimum of 17 racks in the size L100 cm x B50 cm x H225 cm.
This project was all about translating a technical product into an inviting booth experience. Seventeen full rack structures defined the architecture. The layout mimicked real retail aisles, allowing visitors to visualize how the system would function in their stores. We wanted to create a clear and powerful product presentation.
The METAFRANC stand became more than a display, it became a working showroom. The stand combined industrial robustness with a clean retail expression, balancing technical detail with visual clarity.

Metafranc Products
During a B2B show like DIY PRO GARDEN, METAFRANC’s main goal is not to present the individual products, but rather to present the clever rack system to professional buyers and wholesalers. The system comes stacked with products from the factory and is implemented in retail environments, helping stores restock the shelves and place stock back in the right position.
The challenge was to showcase all these racks without creating an overwhelming feeling. It needed to look neat and organized.

Build on Modular system for re-use.
he entire booth was designed as a modular system.
- Delivered and repacked on a single pallet.
- Reconfigurable with limited effort.
- Adaptable for smaller expos, showroom setups and open house events.
To build something customized and step away from the standard venue configuration, we developed a reusable concept for future DIY and PRO GARDEN editions that can be used again in the same setup, but can also be scaled down when needed for other events.
When the booth has reached the end of its life, the structure can easily be recycled. Everything follows Linkon’s mantra of Rethink, Reuse, Recycle.

Booth will be re-used for next DIY pro & garden and when end of life 100% re-cycled
Lighting
The spotlights were carefully positioned to replicate real in store lighting. Integrated into the structures, the spotlights enhanced the booth visibility and illuminated both the shelving system and the displayed products.
The lighting was chosen with one philosophy in mind, it must allow a one click installation. No complexity. Maximum effect. The lights did not just illuminate the booth, they activated the product.

Lights didn’t just illuminate the booth, it activated the product.
Installation

Production and buildup:
Installation was handled by Linkon together with METAFRANC’s internal assembly team. With minimal guidance, their team could directly participate in the build.
The long term vision is autonomy. At future events, their own team will be able to assemble the stand independently.
